Criteria for Marking and Grading Assignments
The following are the descriptions tagged to the four grades in DACE assessments:


  • Not Yet Competent
For learners who have not yet demonstrated competency to industry’s standards in accordance to the Unit of Competency guidelines.
  • Competent
For learners who have achieved all of the learning outcomes and consistently performed to industry standards in accordance to the Unit of Competency guidelines and grading criteria.
  • Competent with Merit
For learners who have performed above industry standards set out in the Unit of Competency guidelines and grading criteria, in addition to achievement of all learning outcomes to the specific standards.
  • Competent with Distinction
For learners who have demonstrated outstanding performance above industry’s standards in almost all areas set out in the Unit of Competency guidelines and grading criteria, in addition to meeting the competency requirements for Competent with Merit.
